Minimize risk by minimizing exposure.

Never open the glass door when the "X-ray Generation" light is on.

Set the end of dosimeter on the bulb--DO NOT press downward.

Press and hold the illumination

View an initial dosimeter reading.

Enter the vertical hairline position in your personal exposure log.

If the hairline is missing, you will need to discharge the dosimeter by following Step 4.

Set dosimeter on discharger and apply a downward force.

While maintaining downward force, turn the discharge knob counterclockwise.

When the hairline appears on the scale, record the initial reading in your personal exposure log.

Wear dosimeter while working with the XRD.

When finished, record your final dosimeter reading in your personal exposure log.
